Stephen Campbell

Professor

Professor Campbell received a PhD in physics from Northwestern University. After a brief stint at Unisys, he joined the University of Minnesota. He is a fellow of the IEEE, a Professor in Electrical and Computer Engineering, the Penrose Professor of Nanotechnology, and is a Distinguished Professor of the University’s College of Science and Engineering. He also directs the Minnesota Nano Center. Professor Campbell has about 240 publications as well as a well-known text on micro and nano fabrication. His research led to fundamental changes in CMOS is manufacturing. More recently Professor Campbell has worked on thin film solar cells, BioMEMS, and 2D materials.
